Daily stuff

First installment of my daily inspiration. Only 6 this time, once I'll get the hang of it to place pics much faster without fucking it up i'll do more. enjoy them anyway, I did. so you'll do too. probably.

Lava Fields | "FFworkshop"

big, bad, awesome.

Falling | "Whitecdr"

Some crazy ass noir photography.

Exile | "MissTora"

great atmospheric photograph. sucks you in a desolated atmosphere and keeps you there for the rest of your bloody life.

Pursuit of Vikings | "Damnedbrain"

I like typography as much as I like vikings. combine them and you get a one way ticket to this blog.

The Hellier Project | "Cyanidejack"
http://cyanidejack.deviantart.com/art/The-Hellier-Project-160148494

Really strange atmosphere in here, I like black and white manips so that's a pro. the whole setting could make it look like it was taken from a 1954 prequel of Saw.

Spring Cleaning | "Sygnin"

love spring, and spring cleaning is something we all hate. this canadian illustrator captures it really funny though.

Portraits

Releasing the new installment of my portraits series; went into a collaboration with super awesome photographer girl Vera Cornel, check out her website as she is great. I really hope to work with her again in the near future.

Props to Vera, and glad to be working with you

Portraits/Exploration

So yeah. My second blog post is going to be all about me. At least, my work, at least, the latest chunk of it.

Recently, I've been developing my own visual identity, enhancing it too by the way. Here you can see the first fruits of the big tree. going from older to newer. I hope you like them, more is to be coming.

tThe latest piece is the first entry of an upcoming series I came to call "portraits". I am truly fascinated by portrait photography and the emotions coming off it. I'll be sure to share a couple of good ones with you guys. I'm that kind.

However. The way portraits are captured on a photograph can be visually enhanced. I like to do that and make the emotions and feelings shine even more. Manipulate it in some cases.

Edit: I realize I still truly suck at blogging. bear with me for the moment though.

Cheers,

To kick off a failing world....

...it would be appropiate to introduce myself.

My name is Kees "Abstrax" van Duyn, an 18 year old graphic designer/artist from the Netherlands. I currently study at the Mediacollege in Amsterdam (third year), which I'm currently working as an intern/graphic designer at Clipboard-Publishing Bv.

My style is really fucked up. I used to go here and there and just explore everything the world of digital art had to offer. Recently though, I kinda settled between a mixture of oldschool collage and modern illustration. I really like the results from it and it's pretty darn awesome too.

Feeling the need to express myself on a wider scale than Twitter, DeviantART, the Behance network and Facebook, I wanted to start my own blog (well, everyone has one sir, so why not me?) I'm going to share various stuff here with you people. Works of people I like, people I like, pictures of people I like and my own personal works, thoughts, dumps and other trash.

ALSO; I give you guys the opportunity to let me rate your work. If you feel that I am appropiate and kind enough to criticize your work, bludgeon it to death or praise it to skies above; send a little mail to srabstrax@gmail.com and I will most definitely post your work on here (giving you free exposure along the ride.), isn't that fantastic?

Cheers,

Abstrax
